The Harris Center is looking for an experienced Licensed Therapist to join our Mobile Crisis Outreach Team

About the Position

The Licensed Therapist at The Harris Center is responsible for providing independent assessments and interventions in accord to a patient’s treatment plan and needs. One of the most important focuses of the Licensed Therapist is the creation and management of care plans and evaluation of the current and future medical needs of patients. You will work alongside the inpatient and outpatient treatment teams in order to best meet the needs of your patients. Your clinical role involves assessing patients’ for potential diagnoses and treatment needs, monitoring patient progress with treatment goals to ensure effectiveness of interventions, and providing patient education regarding mental illness, symptoms, and medications. The Licensed Therapist also provides crisis intervention to individuals to reduce symptoms and prevent admission to more restrictive care. This role also provides monitoring, supervision, and training to other clinical staff as needed. 

About our Field-Based Programs

The Harris Center provides field-based programs including our Mobile Crisis Outreach Team (MCOT) and Crisis Intervention Response Team (CIRT) in partnership with the Houston Police Department and the Harris County Sheriff’s Office. The MCOT provides services to children and adults experiencing a mental health crisis but unwilling to access services through a traditional outpatient setting, at risk for hospitalization, or in need of outreach services to prevent further deterioration.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree from an accredited institution in one of the following: psychology, social work, counseling, sociology, human development, or educational psychology
  • Clinical License through the State of Texas as: LCSW, LPC, or LMFT
  • 1-2 years of clinical experience, post Master’s degree
  • Valid Driver’s License
